A red velvet sundae with raspberry ice cream is raising money at Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica, but only through Saturday.

The hotel's oceanfront restaurant, Terrazza, gives $1 to breast cancer work at Providence Saint John's for every item ordered off its pink October menus, the Santa Monica Daily Press reported Wednesday. The restaurant's own menu page names the recipient as Saint John's Comprehensive Breast Program and lists the Think Pink lineup, sundae included, as an October offer.

It's the last stretch of a pink month. On Oct. 24, Casa del Mar and its sister hotel, Shutters on the Beach, took invited guests to the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at the Santa Monica Pier. Each walker got a pair of limited-edition Breast Cancer Awareness sneakers from the footwear brand APL, and the group ended up at Terrazza for brunch, the Daily Press reported.

The hotel had already given to the same hospital. It donated a staycation for two to Saint John's fifth annual Pink Lighting Ceremony, which drew nearly 250 guests to the hospital's Mullen Gardens, according to the Saint John's Cancer Institute blog.
