Caruso's Palisades Village Reopens 19 Months After the Fire, With 70% of Shops Back

The Caruso-owned Pacific Palisades center came back on Saturday, August 15, 2026, after more than $100 million in repairs. Nancy Silverton's steakhouse is due in mid-September, the Los Angeles Times reported.

About 70% of the shops and restaurants at Palisades Village reopened on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The Caruso-owned center in Pacific Palisades came back nineteen months after the Palisades fire, the Los Angeles Times reported on August 20, 2026. Repairs ran more than $100 million, the paper reported. Opening dates for the remaining tenants have not all been set.

Roughly one-third of the businesses in the center are new. Developer Rick Caruso said 99% of the complex is leased, the Times reported. The center now holds roughly a dozen restaurants and cafes, plus a weekly farmers market. Every business space was stripped to the studs, reinsulated and refitted with new kitchen equipment, the outlet reported. Perishables left behind during the fire had caused water, toxic-waste and mold damage.

For a neighborhood still rebuilding house by house, bread, coffee and fresh produce are again within walking distance of blocks that burned. There is also somewhere to sit down.

What opened

Timothy Hollingsworth opened Alphabet Bar & Grill with the h.wood Group in the former Hank's space. He is the chef behind Otium and an alum of the French Laundry. The menu is American classics.

Rotisserie chickens come with a range of sauces. Burgers arrive under cheddar and onions, and there is rotisserie-chicken noodle soup for children. There is indoor and outdoor seating, a small bar and a semi-open kitchen. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Hollingsworth and his family evacuated during the Eaton fire, the Times reported. His childhood neighborhood in Northern California recently burned. “The community has gone through so much and now it's time to rebuild,” he told the paper.

Kim Kedeshian reopened K Bakery in the former Jemma Pizzeria space. She is a longtime Pacific Palisades resident, and the bakery turns 15 this year. The fire closed her previous location. The counter carries English muffins, croissants, pretzels, bread and cinnamon buns, Tuesday through Sunday. Whole cakes are ordered online.

Blue Ribbon Sushi built an omakase counter next door called Ueki. It seats 10 at the sushi bar, plus two small booths. Sushi chef Hongki Lee runs a rotating sushi and robata menu lasting roughly two hours. There is one seating Wednesday through Friday and two on Saturday and Sunday.

• Angelini Ristorante & Bar, in its original space and patio, with its Italian menu unchanged. The chef is now Lucio Bedon, former chef-owner of Vicini Ristorante & Wine Bar.
• Blue Ribbon Sushi, with an expanded patio over the center's lawn. Daily for lunch and dinner.
• Porta Via, daily for lunch and dinner with a full bar and patio. The chain's Beverly Hills location remains closed after a spring kitchen fire.
• McConnell's Fine Ice Creams, which gave away scoops on reopening day. Open daily until 10 p.m.
• Alfred, reopened August 15, 2026 for coffee, matcha and pastries. Daily from 8 a.m.
• The Pacific Palisades Farmers Market, back August 19, 2026 with more than a dozen vendors along the Swarthmore Avenue stretch. Wednesdays from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. through December 30.

What is still to come

Nancy Silverton plans to open Spacca Tutto in the former Draycott space in mid-September. The chef behind Mozza, Chi Spacca and La Brea Bakery is calling it an Italian-leaning steakhouse. About a third of the menu carries over Chi Spacca stalwarts, including the focaccia di Recco and several steaks. Crab Louie, shrimp cocktail, steak tartare and artichoke dip are new, developed with Chi Spacca alum Armen Ayvazyan.

Silverton told the Times the fire changed her calculus. She described the Palisades as a neighborhood she felt she could bring a little life back to, and said that was what excited her, the paper reported. The Globe covered that restaurant on its own on August 4, 2026.

Carla Cafe is due in spring 2027 as a walk-up window near the mall's green space. It is owned by Avi Ahdoot and Jessica Horell. Erewhon returns in early 2027. Corinne Verdery, chief executive of Caruso's operations, said cleaning and renovations pushed the grocer into next year. Water damage and spoiled food after the fire required that work, the Times reported. The neighborhood's grocery store, in other words, is among the last things back.
