Wilde's Sells a $68 Meat Pie. Walk-Ins Wait Hours in Los Feliz.

The new British spot on Hillhurst Avenue scored an 8.6, and half its small dining room is held for walk-ins.

A meat pie at Wilde's, the new British restaurant on Hillhurst Avenue in Los Feliz, costs $68. The Infatuation rated the place 8.6 out of 10 in a review published September 22, 2026, by its executive editor, Jess Basser Sanders. The price didn't sink the dish for her: "We'd happily come to Wilde's for a meat pie and a glass of wine, even knowing that this pie is $68."

Dinner is the British canon with the corners sanded: bangers and mash, battered fish, sticky toffee pudding, plus a chicory salad the review files under California.

The loudest praise goes to dessert. The sticky toffee pudding is "a best-in-the-city dessert," per that review, which describes it as light rather than the usual brick. The battered skate with mint sauce lands on nearly every table, the outlet reported. The mash came out velvety one night and gummy on another, and the full English doesn't include black pudding, which the reviewer counts as a loss.

My verdict is on the numbers, not the plate. That review prices the pie at $68. It also prices the candle in the restroom at $64. Only one of them comes with gravy. The reviewer is sold, and reading the rundown — rotating fillings, a lamb version, a dessert rated best in the city — I get it. I'd pay the $68 once. I wouldn't pay the two-hour wait at all, which is what the 10 a.m. reservation window is for.

The meat pie's filling changes, so the lamb version the review singles out isn't guaranteed on any given night.
