Signs Go Up for Blank Street Coffee in Beverly Hills

Until the doors open, anyone on the Westside who wants one of these matcha drinks is driving to Studio City, which is a canyon crossing and a parking problem for a weekday habit — and that's the whole argument for a Golden Triangle storefront. The block is a short walk from Rodeo Drive.

What the coffee will cost here is an open question. Blank Street's own online menu lists its drinks with order buttons and no prices, so the check is a thing you meet at the register, not before you go.

The chain sells coffee and matcha with an emphasis on “quality, design, and experience” — the description that ran with the signage notice. Translated into real estate, that's a small, heavily branded box in an expensive retail corridor, which is exactly the space it just took.

The company started small and didn't stay there. Blank Street says on its company page that it opened in August 2020 as a coffee cart in the garden of the Wythe Diner in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and has since opened more than 100 shops across the United States and the United Kingdom.

The money has moved faster than the L.A. footprint. Vinay Menda, Issam Freiha and Ignacio Llado founded the company in 2020. Blank Street was in talks to raise more than $100 million as of April 2026, per a Financial Times report cited in the Beverly Hills signage notice.

Set those two facts next to each other and the Beverly Hills lease reads plainly enough: a chain with three-digit store counts and nine-digit fundraising talks has, to date, two shops in the second-largest city in the country. Studio City was the toe in the water. This one is on Santa Monica Boulevard, four blocks from Wilshire.

For now, the Beverly Hills location is a covered window with a name on it. The nearest Blank Street you can actually buy a drink at is still the Studio City shop, over the hill.
