Malibu's Papa Razzi's Pizza Is Taking Its Sourdough to Agoura Hills
The New York-style sourdough shop is taking over the shuttered Parma's Pizzeria space on Kanan Road and is aiming to open in December.

A Malibu pizzeria that won't cook with seed oils is coming over the hills to Agoura Hills. Papa Razzi's Pizza plans a second shop at 5649 Kanan Road, What Now Los Angeles reported Tuesday, and co-owners Tamar Asayag and Oren Zroya told What Now they're aiming to open in December.
One pizza shop out, another in. The space belonged to Parma's Pizzeria, which Apple Maps now lists as permanently closed, in the Agoura Meadows Shopping Center alongside Italia Deli, Cronies and a Vons. Conejo Valley Guide flagged the swap Oct. 23. The owners told What Now that the plaza's local small businesses sold them, since that's the kind of company their original shop keeps on Heathercliff Road in Malibu.
The pitch is a New York-style pie on long-fermented sourdough, a slower road than ordinary dough, and Agoura gets the same menu Malibu does. "We believe in feel-good food," the owners told What Now. "No seed oils, and making sure people really feel great after eating our pizza."
The Malibu shop already counts Calabasas customers among its crowd, according to What Now, so this is for the Conejo Valley folks who'd rather not drive to the coast for a crust. Any shop after that one can wait. "We're very focused on opening Agoura first, and then we'll go from there," the owners said.
