The Dodgers are headed back to the National League Championship Series, and Game 1 is Sunday night. Where they'll play it was still being settled in San Diego.

Wednesday's Game 4 win over the Atlanta Braves closed out the Division Series and sent Los Angeles to its third straight NLCS, True Blue LA reported. It's the eighth trip in 11 years under manager Dave Roberts.

The opponent comes out of the other NL Division Series, where Milwaukee led San Diego two games to one going into Game 4 on Wednesday night at Petco Park.

That result decides more than a name. Against the Padres, the Dodgers would have home-field advantage. Against the Brewers, they'd start on the road.

So Games 1 and 2, on Sunday and Monday, land in Milwaukee or Los Angeles. Games 3 and 4 on Oct. 14 and 15 go to Los Angeles or San Diego, as would Game 5 on Oct. 16 if it's needed. Games 6 and 7, on Oct. 18 and 19 if necessary, swing back to wherever the series opened.

A Milwaukee series would be familiar. The Brewers were the Dodgers' NLCS opponent last year, and in 2018 too.

A San Diego series would be stranger. It'd be the fourth time in seven years the two teams have met in the postseason, every one of them in an even year: 2020, 2022, 2024 and now 2026. It'd also be only the second NLCS between two NL West clubs. The first was Arizona against Colorado in 2007, during the Rockies' Rocktober run.

Fox Sports has the series, with each game on Fox or FS1. Start times haven't been announced. Joe Davis, who missed Games 3 and 4 of the Division Series, is slated to call it with John Smoltz if his voice allows, according to True Blue LA.

Whatever happens at Petco Park, the Dodgers have Thursday, Friday and Saturday off. Whether those days end with a flight to Milwaukee depends on a series somebody else is playing.
