$8 Mini Cocktails Arrive at a Cahuenga Pass Bar, With Full Pours at $13

A mini cocktail at Night on Earth, an 1980s-themed bar in the Cahuenga Pass, now runs $8, and a full-size drink $13. The new lineup of 10 cocktails was reported by Eater LA on August 21, 2026. That is the whole bet: a drink small enough to order twice on a weeknight, at a number a person can read without doing arithmetic. It lands on people who still want to go out in a year when going out costs more, and on a bar wagering that more small tickets beat fewer large ones.

The new drinks include the Odd Throuple, built on rye whiskey with an apple-miso distillate vapor, buckwheat honey, beeswax and pecan, and the Desnudo y Crudo, with tequila, sotol, papaya, horchata and orange, the outlet reported. Nonalcoholic options are listed at $10. The $7 teriyaki-glazed beef hot dog, served with togarashi Kewpie mayonnaise on a potato bun, stays on the menu. So do the older drinks.

What the small pour costs elsewhere

Night on Earth is one of a handful of Los Angeles bars and restaurants moving toward smaller-format drinks, the outlet reported. It named the Tiny 'Tini at Hermon as a current favorite, and said Pasjoli, in Santa Monica, prepares multiple miniature martinis for $15. How many martinis arrive for that $15 is not stated, which is the trouble with lining any of these prices up against an $8 mini.

The work behind the glass is not small. The bar's co-owners ferment uncommon ingredients, cherries among them, and buy from small alcohol producers, the outlet reported. A base for a single drink can take two to three days, including custom refrigeration and batching of particular ingredients. The bar also aims to cut down on waste.

A separate series downtown

Mike Capoferri, a co-founder of Night on Earth and of the restaurant Thunderbolt, will start a summer cocktail series with the Japanese lifestyle brand Kinto at Row DTLA, running Friday, August 28, through Sunday, October 11. Seatings are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Prices for the series were not listed in the report.
