The Cup Kicked Off Here: USA–Paraguay at SoFi

The United States opened its home World Cup on June 12 against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium, and returned June 25 to close the group stage against Türkiye, per SoFi Stadium. The city's fan footprint stretched well beyond Inglewood, with watch events at the Memorial Coliseum, Union Station, and The Original Farmers Market, per LAmag's June guide.

What worked best wasn't inside the stadium at all: it was the city treating its own public landmarks as the venue. Union Station as a watch party is the kind of idea worth keeping long after the tournament — some of the best rooms in Los Angeles are the ones everybody already owns.
