'Practical Magic 2' Made $30 Million. The Next Four Movies Made Less.
Spider-Man, The Odyssey, Runner and Coyote vs. Acme added up to $28.7 million between them.

"Practical Magic 2" took $30 million at the domestic box office over the weekend of September 11–13. That's more than the next four films on the chart managed together, at $28.7 million, per Comscore's box office tracking as of September 14, 2026.
The gap is $1.28 million. For anyone booking screens in Los Angeles this fall, that's the shape of the weekend: one picture absorbed roughly half the money in the top five, and the others split what was left.
A distributor dating an expensive title into late September isn't fighting four rivals. It's fighting one, and waiting out a queue.
The top five, as Comscore had them for September 11–13, 2026:
- "Practical Magic 2" — $30 million
- "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" — $8.4 million
- "The Odyssey" — $7.4 million
- "Runner" — $6,678,693
- "Coyote vs. Acme" — $6,239,384
The leader made about 3.6 times what the runner-up made. That ratio, not the raw $30 million, is the line a marketing department reads when it decides whether to spend into a second weekend or hold the money back.
The four behind the leader are bunched. About $2.16 million separates the runner-up from the fifth film. The last two finished $439,309 apart, close enough that a single circuit's bookings could reorder them.
What the chart ranks is money, not appetite per seat. Screen counts and per-theater averages would separate a film people sought out from one that simply had the most shows to sell. Comscore's ranking settles which film took the most, not why.
For the crews and the pictures parked in September, that's the mechanics of the month. A wide release dated here is betting it can be the concentration rather than the queue.
One film got to be the concentration. The rest played for the remainder.
The next chart is the test: whether "Practical Magic 2" holds enough of that $30 million to keep the top of the queue, or the four behind it finally divide the room.
