In the video for Olivia Rodrigo's first Christmas song, Cynthia Nixon plays a round of Heads Up, and every card taped to every forehead says "Olivia Rodrigo."

The song, "take me home (4 christmas)," came out with that video Thursday, Billboard reported. Nixon shares the screen with "Saturday Night Live" cast member Ben Marshall, and a family in loud Christmas sweaters fills out the room. It's Rodrigo's first original holiday song. Pitchfork and Stereogum both have it up to stream.

She announced it Monday on social media, and it read like her. "my first Christmas song “take me home (4 christmas)” is out this Thursday at 5 pm pt/ 8 pm ET!! you can preorder it now. im so excited!!!" she wrote, Paste reported.

She didn't pick a new team for this one. Rodrigo wrote the song with Dan Nigro, her longtime collaborator, and Amy Allen, and Nigro produced it, the Official Charts Company said, listing the release on Interscope Records. Rodrigo's own webstore describes it as a song about "the excitement and nerves of spending the holidays with someone you love," according to Paste. Stereogum hears some of the Waitresses' "Christmas Wrapping" in it.

The casting has a story behind it. In a conversation with Jimmy Fallon earlier this year, Rodrigo named "Sex and the City" as the show she loves most and credited it with shaping songs on her third album, Stereogum reported. "There's actually multiple songs that are inspired by Miranda and Steve," she said. Now Miranda herself is in a Rodrigo video.

Is it a one-off? The packaging suggests not quite. The 7-inch vinyl and cassette, on preorder through her store and at Target, come with a B-side called "miss this christmas," Paste reported. So the physical single holds two Christmas songs.

It also caps a year Paste counted as a run of firsts: her own festival, Daisy Chain Fields, her first official remix and now a holiday single. That remix, "expectations" with Chappell Roan, came out Oct. 15 with a game-show video starring David Byrne, Variety reported, and it climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Variety also said it'll name her Songwriter of the Year at its Hitmakers event in Los Angeles in December.

Her Unraveled Tour has U.S. and Canada dates through Dec. 20, Billboard noted, so the song could show up in late-December sets. Across the Atlantic, the Official Charts Company is already treating it as a contender for the U.K.'s Christmas No. 1. Rodrigo has four U.K. No. 1 singles, from "drivers license" through this year's "drop dead." The Christmas chart week runs Dec. 18 to 24, and the winner is named on Christmas Day. A win would give her a fifth U.K. No. 1, and her first at Christmas.
