Found Hiding Under a Couch, Cricket the Chihuahua Is Ready for a Home
Venice and Westside dog lovers can meet the 6-year-old Chihuahua at the Lange Foundation's kennel on Sepulveda Boulevard in West L.A.

Abandoned in Compton, Cricket was found tucked beneath her owner's old couch, according to the Lange Foundation's adoption listing. Now the 6-year-old Chihuahua is waiting at the foundation's West L.A. kennel for somebody to take her home.
Yo! Venice spotlighted her Thursday. The Venice news site reported that her caretakers call her "very loving and very loyal." In video the site posted, the small tan dog rolls around in the grass for belly rubs and keeps pace with the volunteers who walk her. The foundation's listing says she's healthy and gets along with most dogs.
Lange pulls its animals out of city and county shelters, among them ones on the euthanasia list, the foundation says on its contact page. Its Halfway Home Kennel is at 2106 S. Sepulveda Blvd., near Olympic Boulevard, and it's open every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Meeting Cricket starts with an online application. The foundation says its staff is small and prefers email to calls, though the kennel does have a line: 310-473-5585.
She doesn't need a houseful of dogs, either. Six years in, and after a stretch under somebody else's couch, the listing says she'd be just as happy as "someone's one and only."
