An Oxnard Chick-fil-A Is Still Hiring. It Plans to Close Dec. 31.
The operator of the North Rose Avenue restaurant filed a state layoff notice listing 87 workers who'll lose their jobs.

The Chick-fil-A at 2040 N. Rose Ave. in Oxnard is still posting openings for front- and back-of-house team members at $20 an hour. Its operator plans to shut it down for good on Dec. 31.
Worthy Integrated Holdings LLC, the company that runs the restaurant, filed a state WARN notice on Nov. 2 that lists 87 employees losing their jobs, What Now Los Angeles reported Wednesday. The outlet said the notice didn't give a reason.
Chick-fil-A restaurants are run by independent owners, and the Rose Avenue location's page names Matt Ellenberg as its operator. Until the closing, it's open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, until 11 p.m. on Fridays, and closed Sundays like the rest of the chain.
Under California's layoff-notice rules, the local workforce board's Rapid Response teams help laid-off workers look for jobs, find training and sort out unemployment benefits.
Oxnard isn't losing its only Chick-fil-A. The Riverpark Oxnard restaurant at 851 Town Center Dr., run by a different operator, Robert Shaffer, is still listed and is advertising jobs of its own, from $20-an-hour team members to managers at $27.
