Universal Will Open Two Haunted Houses in Daylight for Guided Tours. Tickets Aren’t Priced Yet.

Two of this year's haunted houses at Universal Studios Hollywood will open in daylight, lights on, as a guided walking tour. Secret Los Angeles reported the add-on in a post published Aug. 31, 2026 and reviewed by Jamie Ferrell. What the tour costs, and which days it runs, isn't in there.

For the people who buy Halloween Horror Nights tickets every fall, this is a second line item on the same trip. The sell isn't a scare. It's the carpentry behind one.

The outlet describes the Unmasking the Horror Tour Add-On as “a daytime, lights-on walkthrough of select haunted houses, currently the Sinners and KILLceañera builds.” That word currently is doing work. The two-house lineup is where things stood in the announcement, not a guarantee. The tour is guided, walks visitors through the construction and design of the sets, and includes designated photo spots inside.

Then there's the money, or rather there isn't. The add-on is “available as a separate purchase alongside regular event tickets,” per the same post, which sends readers to the Universal Studios Hollywood website for full details and tickets. No dollar figure appears in it. We checked the park's own Halloween Horror Nights page and it returned no readable text, so there's no posted price to report here.

The event's calendar is firmer than the tour's. Halloween Horror Nights is scheduled to open Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, and to run select nights through Nov. 1, 2026, a window the Los Angeles Times also reported on Aug. 26, 2026 in its preview of the event's food lineup. Those are the event's dates. The announcement doesn't say the daytime walkthrough runs the full season, or which days of the week it operates.

One of the two builds is billed as KILLceañera: Music by SLASH — an original house scored by SLASH, according to Secret Los Angeles. The other is Sinners.

Worth saying what this is, structurally: a construction-and-design tour attached to a night event, sold to the same customer, at a price nobody has published yet. Theme parks have long run backstage tours; the twist is running one through the seasonal build itself, while the season is live.

And the gap in the announcement is the product. It doesn't say what an unlit house looks like from inside — the paint edges, daylight in a corridor designed for a strobe — which is the entire reason to buy the thing. Until Universal Studios Hollywood posts a price and the operating days, what's on offer is a name, two houses that may change, and a season it may or may not span.
