Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Scored Brad Pitt's Cliff Booth Comeback
It's the Nine Inch Nails duo's sixth David Fincher film, and the soundtrack lands Nov. 25 with the two-week IMAX run.

Brad Pitt's stuntman Cliff Booth is back on the clock in Hollywood, and David Fincher has once again handed the music to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The Nine Inch Nails duo scored The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, the Quentin Tarantino-written spinoff of Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood, Rolling Stone reported Nov. 2, confirming rumors that had circulated in October.
Fans won't have to wait for the stream to hear it. The score goes out digitally Nov. 25 through Netflix Music, Louder reported, the same day Netflix opens the 141-minute film for a two-week IMAX run. Streaming starts Dec. 23, according to Louder and Variety; Rolling Stone described the Nov. 25 opening simply as theaters.
The movie finds Pitt's character in 1977, eight years after the first film rewrote the night of the Manson Family murders. Netflix's synopsis, as quoted by Louder, puts it bluntly: "Los Angeles no longer needs a hippie-slaying stuntman the way it did." So Cliff works shifts behind a bar and in a projection booth, and takes fixer jobs for Hollywood people with problems on the side.
Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Timothy Olyphant and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are also in the cast, and Variety adds Carla Gugino to the list.
Reznor and Ross haven't exactly been waiting by the phone. In September 2025 they released the Tron: Ares soundtrack under the Nine Inch Nails name, the band's first new record in about five years, Rolling Stone noted, and in April they put out Nine Inch Noize with Boys Noize. They've also scored Luca Guadagnino's last four films, including Challengers and After the Hunt. None of it pulled them away from Fincher.
This is their sixth Fincher film in a row, Pitchfork said after confirming the reunion itself. The run started with a payday: their first Fincher score, for 2010's The Social Network, won them the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for original score, Variety noted. Every Fincher feature since, from Gone Girl to The Killer, has carried their names.
This time there was no big announcement. The credit surfaced on the film's poster, Variety reported, which Netflix posted Nov. 2 under the words "ONLY IN IMAX NOVEMBER 25."
Tarantino is adding a third version. He'll publish a novelization of the Booth film on Dec. 8, Rolling Stone reported, following his 2021 novel based on the first movie.
For a movie whose hero pays some of his bills running a projector, the order fits: the big screen first, then the couch on Dec. 23.
