Gabrielle Fritz's game credits already include Battlefield 2042 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Her next one, MP1st reported Monday, is the remake of the original Silent Hill.

According to MP1st, Bloober Team, the Polish studio behind the Silent Hill 2 remake, is aiming its version of Konami's 1999 PlayStation horror game at a 2027 launch. The cast was hired under the codename "Project Noise." The site also names a second UK actress, Jade Matthew, whose game work includes the Korean MMORPG Dragon Nest. Neither company has announced a release window.

Video Games Chronicle, which ran the report Tuesday, said the 2027 target holds only if nothing gets delayed and Konami doesn't change its schedule. MP1st gave the same warning about its own date.

Nobody knows yet who Fritz and Matthew play. The 1999 game doesn't have many characters, so MP1st guessed at three: police officer Cybil Bennett, nurse Lisa Garland or the villain, Dahlia Gillespie.

The year fits a plan Konami has talked about openly. At Gamescom in August, franchise producer Motoi Okamoto told GamesRadar+ that the publisher has "many projects" it hasn't announced yet, and that "our aim is to, hopefully, have an annual release of new games," VGC reported.

So far the yearly releases are holding up. IGN counts Silent Hill f in 2025 and Silent Hill: Townfall this year. VGC says no other Silent Hill game is confirmed for 2027, which makes this remake the most likely one for next year.

Bloober's last remake is a big one to follow. Konami said the Silent Hill 2 remake had sold 5 million copies by January, VGC noted, and IGN puts the total at 6 million.

If the date holds, the remake won't have been rushed. Real production got going back in 2022, according to the leaker Dusk Golem, whom MP1st credits for that date. That would mean about five years of work by a 2027 launch. The studio is busy in the meantime. MP1st says it's also building the Lazarus DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn, and IGN lists Saw: Genesis and Star Trek: Shadow Frontier among its other projects.

VGC said it still isn't known whether anyone has been cast as Harry Mason, the original game's hero. If MP1st has it right, two actresses are already signed on. The man the whole game follows isn't yet.
