Hezekiah Masses intercepted Justin Herbert twice, and the second one sealed a Week 2 win for the Las Vegas Raiders over the Los Angeles Chargers. Masses is a rookie cornerback, and the clip of that second pick is posted on NFL.com's game highlights page.

For anyone in Los Angeles who builds a Sunday around this team, that's two weekends spent: the Chargers opened the 2026 season with two losses, the second of them in Las Vegas, against a defense that took the ball away from Herbert twice in the same game.

Then came the part that isn't football. Searches for "hezekiah masses" spiked in California on Sunday night, and they spiked because hardly anybody here had a reason to type that name before the weekend.

That's the whole mechanism of a one-day famous name. A rookie takes the ball off a starting quarterback twice, the second one finishes the game, and the search bar does the rest.
