Jack Black, Weird Al and Norah Jones Join Josh Homme's Wiltern Benefit
The Queens of the Stone Age frontman's one-night show raises money for CORE and his Sweet Stuff Foundation for ailing musicians.

“Weird Al” Yankovic, Norah Jones, Beck and Bill Burr are booked for the same night at the Wiltern, and the man who put them there is Josh Homme.
The Queens of the Stone Age frontman announced “Joshua Homme and Friends” on Tuesday, a one-night benefit on Nov. 16 at the Wilshire Boulevard theater, Secret Los Angeles reported. The money goes to CORE, the Community Organized Relief Effort, and the Sweet Stuff Foundation, which helps career musicians and their families through illness and disability.
The bill reads like three different award shows got shuffled into one deck. The musicians include Beck, St. Vincent, The Kills, Jones, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and producer Andrew Watt, according to TicketNews. Homme's own bandmates are on it too: guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and bassist Michael Shuman.
Then the room changes key. Burr, Sarah Silverman, Dean Delray and Dan Soder bring the comedy, and magician Justin Willman is in the mix. Jack Black's job is to present a special award, Consequence reported.
And then there's John McEnroe. The tennis great is on the bill, too.
Homme pitched the night around CORE’s speed. “They act decisively with care & kindness when others hesitate,” he said in a statement published by JamBase. JamBase reported that CORE’s relief work has included help for people hit by the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires and by the earthquakes in Venezuela in June.
Sweet Stuff is Homme’s own cause. He started it in 2013, Vice reported, to help musicians, recording engineers and their families when illness or bad luck wipes out their money. Limited-edition screen prints from Boneface and Emek, artists who’ve worked with the band, are raising money for the foundation alongside the show, TicketNews reported.
The timing is tight. Perfecth, the band’s ninth album, comes out Oct. 30, a little over two weeks before the benefit. Queens of the Stone Age finished a stadium run with Foo Fighters on Sept. 26, Vice reported. Next they head to Iceland, Japan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, according to Consequence.
Secret Los Angeles called the Wiltern night the last chance to catch the band in L.A. for a while. The show’s billed under Homme’s name, though, not the band’s, and it’s built more like a variety night than a Queens set.
An artist presale opened Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pacific with the code SWEET, Consequence reported, and it runs until 10 p.m. Thursday, according to TicketNews. Everyone else gets a shot Friday at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster, for a room where, by Homme’s account, all the artists are giving their time for free.
