'Heated Rivalry' Is Taking Its Hockey Romance to 650 Movie Theaters
Regal will screen all six Season 1 episodes Nov. 6-30 as three $9.99 double bills, with themed cocktails at some theaters.

“Heated Rivalry” fans who've rewatched the hockey romance at home can do it again in November with a theater full of strangers, at $9.99 for every two episodes.
Regal will put all six Season 1 episodes on the big screen from Nov. 6 to Nov. 30, Variety reported Thursday. The chain is playing it in more than 275 of its own theaters. It's also acting as the nationwide distributor, and that puts the show on AMC and Cinemark screens too, for more than 650 locations in all, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline. So for one month, Regal is booking a TV show onto its rivals' screens.
The series, adapted from Rachel Reid's bestselling novels, follows rival players Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) through a secret romance. Variety says the hit turned both actors into two of Hollywood's most sought-after names.
The season plays in order as three double bills. The first pairs “Rookies” and “Olympians,” and the last ends on “I'll Believe in Anything” and “The Cottage.” Regal's showings open with welcome content from the cast and creator Jacob Tierney. Some locations will also sell two themed cocktails, the Summer in Montreal and the Russians Don't Blush.
The whole season comes to $29.97 at Regal. Regal Rewards+ and AMC A-List members can book at no extra charge, TV Insider reported. Advance tickets are on sale at Regal box offices, on the Regal app and at REGmovies.com, where fans in L.A. can see which nearby Regal is carrying it.
The deal starts in Canada. “Heated Rivalry” is a Crave original that streams on HBO Max in the U.S. Sphere Abacus, the Bell Media company that took it international, partnered with Regal on the run, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Hana Palmer, Sphere Abacus's executive director of global distribution and partnerships, said in a statement carried by Variety that the show sets off “a rush of social media and press activity wherever it lands.” Screenings will also reach the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.
Brooks LeBoeuf, Regal's senior vice president of U.S. content, laid out the bet in a statement Thursday: turn “a season fans have watched again and again” into a theatrical event.
The show premiered on Nov. 28, 2025, according to TV Insider, so the final screenings land two days after its first anniversary. Season 2 started production in Canada in August and isn't due until spring 2027, Deadline reported. That leaves fans a long wait, and three double bills to fill some of it.
