Forza Horizon 6 Won't Hit PS5 Until January 2027, Leaker Says

Leaker billbil-kun says the PS5 version arrives Jan. 26, 2027, with a disc release at the same €69.99 price as on Xbox.

A month ago, Playground Games told PlayStation 5 owners to wishlist Forza Horizon 6 and wait for it “later this year.” That wait now reportedly runs into January.

Kotaku reported Wednesday that billbil-kun, the leaker who writes for the French deals site Dealabs, has pinned the PS5 version of the open-world racer to Jan. 26, 2027. In his Dealabs report, he says the date came out of the site’s own digging and contradicts the official line that the port was still due in 2026.

That line is barely a month old. It came at the end of Playground’s long Sept. 7 post for Series 5, the update that added Drift Attack. Playground has never given the PS5 version a firm date, VGC noted, only that it would follow the May launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The studio’s post was itself a rebuttal. On Aug. 27, The Verge’s Tom Warren wrote on X, “I’m not expecting to see Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 in 2026.” He didn’t back off after Playground’s denial: according to Dealabs, his Notepad newsletter said on Sept. 8 that the port would land in early 2027, timed to the game’s first expansion and ahead of its first birthday on Xbox.

Warren isn’t infallible, and Dealabs says so itself, pointing to his recent claim about GTA VI streaming rights that Xbox denied. VGC, for its part, says billbil-kun has been getting hardware and software release details right for years. If he’s right here, PS5 players will have waited about eight months behind everyone else.

What they’d get, per Dealabs: a disc version on the same day as the download, which Kotaku calls a growing rarity on PlayStation. Dealabs puts the price at €69.99 in Europe and £59.99 in the U.K., matching the Xbox Series version, and expects $69.99 in the U.S. It doesn’t yet know whether a Premium Edition, which bought early access on Xbox and PC, will exist on PS5.

The date matters for more than calendars. Dealabs notes that Xbox under its chief, Asha Sharma, has swung back toward exclusives, confirming that Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will stay on Xbox consoles and PC. If Dealabs has it right, January is a delay, not a cancellation, and it comes on a disc. Its predecessor, Forza Horizon 5, was a huge hit when it finally reached PlayStation, Kotaku points out.

On Tuesday, Playground posted a note on X saying it was reading players’ comments and conceding that “we haven’t been talking with you as much as we could be,” with promised changes to post-launch content and how it communicates. Kotaku noted the studio never said exactly what had prompted it.

Dealabs expects the official date announcement this week, with preorders opening right behind it, and Kotaku said it had asked Microsoft and Playground to clear things up. Until somebody does, the only official instruction PS5 players have is September’s: hit wishlist, and wait.
